Deng Xiaoping's South Talk And Marxism In China

Deng Xiaoping's South Talk is the product of the basic principles of Marxism with China's specific reality; it is another manifesto of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts; it is the outcome of Marxism in China. Studying the relationship between South Talk and Marxism in China is conductive to the continuous development and improvement of Marxism in China; to continuously push forward China's reform and opening up and socialist modernization drive. Based on the summarization of the theoretical research outcome, this paper studies the relationship of South Talk with Marxism in China further and systematically. It consists of four parts:Part One: the historical origin of South Talk. This part mainly elaborates on the background both at home and abroad before South Talk, and then analyzes the necessity and great historical significance of South Talk. International backgrounds are the drastic changes of Eastern Europe, the disintegration of Soviet Union and the sanction of western developed countries; domestic backgrounds are the political turmoil of China in 1989 and the preparations of the fourteenth congress of CPC.Part Two: Marxism in China made preparations for South Talk. This part stresses that Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought made theoretical preparation and the great achievement of fourteen years'reform and opening-up made practical preparation for South Talk. It explains that Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought made theoretical preparation for South Talk in view of the world and methodology, economics and scientific socialism and that the great achievement of fourteen years'reform and opening-up made practical preparation for South Talk from the great achievement of economic reform in city, rural reform, reform of the system of technological education and opening-up to external.Part Three: South Talk promotes the historical progress of Marxism in China. This part talks about it from three aspects mainly: South Talk's scientific attitude to persist in and develop Marxism, South Talk's experience summary of important results of Marxism in China and South Talk's recognition of theoretical results of Marxism in China. South Talk explains the insistence and development of scientific attitude of Marxism in China from two specific aspects. One is the insistence of Marxism with the concrete realities of China in order to establish and strengthen the scientific attitude towards Marxism; the other is against wrong tendency, to be alert to the right and mainly prevents"the left". The author talks about South Talk's experience summary to important results of Marxism in China from two specific aspects. South Talk summed up the theory of socialist market economic, the theory of socialism nature. The author discusses South Talk's recognition of theoretical results of Marxism in China from three specific aspects: the whole party, especially the high-level cadres'identification of the theoretical results, theorists'agreement on the theoretical results and the people's recognition of the theoretical results. This part is not only the focus of this paper, but also the innovation.Part Four: the inspiration of South Talk to promote Marxism in China. This part is also the focus of this paper.
