The performance evaluating method is one of the elements in enterprise performance evaluating system. It's selecting and designing is connected with the objectivity and accuracy of the final result of performance evaluating. And it also affects the benefits of investors, operators and other related persons. In resent years, there have been many evaluating method achievements, but all of them have some disadvantages in some degree, such as the evaluating index are not enough which result in little useful information, the accuracy can not objectively reached, the system can't be used for vertical comparative but crosswise comparative, and can't be widely used for complex processing, therefore the new evaluating method should be introduced. In addition, the former method should also be replaced for technology development.The main purpose in this paper is to probe the more adaptive, comprehensive, and scientific performance evaluating method by study the progressing of performance evaluating method, so as to make the evaluating system more scientific, regular and wildly used.In the first part of the paper, the evaluating methods in the Western and Asian country are comparatively studied, and it gives the conclusion that the quantitative and qualitative analysis should be combined as the base of the evaluating method. And then, the processing of the evaluating method in china is also be studied, it concludes that the present evaluating index system is coincide with our country's situation in the whole, but the evaluating methods are not enough for the final result. Therefore the main methods such as comparative analysis, comprehensive analysis, main components analysis, rank order analysis and efficacy coefficient etc, are analyzed and studied to conclude the disadvantages respectively providing for the new basis to selecting and designing the newmethod. At last, according to the goal of performance evaluating and the construction requirement of the index system, the extension method is firstly applied in an enterprise performance evaluating to solute the troubles of other method. And it proved to be a good method by the satisfied results of the cases.
