With the economic globalization, the development of information technology, the continuous innovation of technology and opening the door of China being stronger, the traditional competition mode that one's success must be based upon competitor's fail have been not met the need of nowaday society. Now, in the business that the benefit is impetus, Win-win is the only choice for the corporations attaining the best achievement. And it's the also rational choice that is made by the corporations for the best profit themselves. Therefore, the co-opetition conception that it cooperates for competition and competes by cooperation has been gradually accepted by Chinese corporations, and became a new competition mode with multinational corporations in China. In this thesis, the author collects a sum of cases and used the fact to explain practice. It analyzes and summarizes the background, the risk and mutual study of co-opetition between Chinese companies and multinational corporations in China. Then the author presents her own view for our company development. She thinks that Chinese companies should not only accept co-opetition conception, but also advance competitiveness themselves and be proficient in cooperation with multinational corporations, and set up a strategical aim of being world-class coporations. In this way, they can obtain the victory in drastic competition today. The thesis includes seven chapters. Chapter one: Preface The author begins to the fable story. She educes the co-opetition conception after that she indicates the theory of helping each other for win-win, and brings it to the current business competition. Then the author cites many small cases including the establishing alliance between international corporations, and joint venture and cooperation between Chinese companies and multinational corporations. They show co-opetition era's coming. The co-opetition mode is becoming main competitive mode to the development of Chinese companies. Chapter two: The co-opetition conception and its correlative theory It is long time about the research of competition and cooperation between companies in west economics and management. Since the 1980s especially, economics and management deduce different theory systems by analyzing competition and cooperation theory between companies from different angles. In this chapter, the author collects and introduces these theories. Then, she relates the origin and meaning of co-opetition in detail, and analyzes increasingly popular reasons of co-opetition mode. Chapter three: The co-opetition background of Chinese companies and multinational corporations in China With the economic globalization, the rapid development of technology, lasting twenty years reform and opening-up of China and China being a member of WTO, China has become an indispensable part and has played an important role in the world economy. More and more multinational corporations have come into China because of all kinds of backgrounds and macroscopical and microcosmic factors. These factors have driven the transformation from competition to co-opetition between Chinese companies and multinational corporations. In the chapter, the author illustrates the inevitability of co-opetition trend between Chinese companies and multinational corporations in China through a lot of cases and the latest statistic data. Chapter four: The current analysis of co-opetition between Chinese companies and multinational corporations Today in China, it is proved that co-opetition mode has been accepted by a lot of Chinese companies and multinational corporations in practices. To the phenomenon, the author summarizes three main modes of co-opetition through many cases, and analyzes the risk and mutual study between Chinese companies and multinational corporations. Chapter five: The strategic choice of Chinese companies in co-opetition age The aim of the thesis is theory directing practice.
