| National spirit is the spiritual support which a national subsistence and development depends on. In the face of the challenge of economic globalization, nationality is impossible in the world nation field without high spirit and noble character independence. Today's world science and technology change with each passing day, various ideologies and cultures impact each other; all aspects combine theory with practice and history with reality together to strengthen the research, carry forward and foster the national spirit. This is much valuable meaning in theory and practice area for accelerating the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics and making great efforts to bring about a great rejuvenation of Chinese nation.This thesis is just emphasized on discussing the approaches of carry forward and foster the national spirit on the basis of important meaning contained by ethos itself. In the first and second part of this paper, the author starts from the definition and the meaning of national spirit to discuss the history of Chinese ethos's development and the challenge and contemporary significance of Chinese ethos within economic globalization. Author tries best to have a clear description to the outline of national spirit, in order to reach and have an overall result that holds to national spirit. National culture is the matrix and source which gestates national spirit, moreover she nourishes and grows national spirit in different forms and different carriers, so the author explains outstanding cultural tradition and relation of national spirit in the third part of the thesis. On the basis of this part, the author raises the point that excellent cultural tradition has very important use in carrying forward and fostering the national spirit.
