Study On The Textile And Garment Trade Between China And Japan

Textile and garment industry is one of important mainstay industry in China's economy and textile and garment trade has an very significant status in China's foreign trade. Since foreign reform and opening, textile and garment had always been the biggest export commodity of China, although since 1996, mechanical and electric product has become the biggest export commodity of China ahead of textile and garment, at present textile and garment is still the biggest commodity in foreign trade surplus. Textile and garment trade between China and Japan is very important for foreign trade of China and Japan, because since 2000, Japan has substitued Hongkong and become the biggest export market of China in textile and garment, although in 2003, the gross export of textile and garment to Japan was less than that to Hongkong by 0.165 billion dollars and Japan became the second biggest export market again, the export of textile and garment to Hongkong mostly belongs to entrepot trade and Hongkong exports most of that to Japan again, so to a certain extent, Japan is still the biggest export market of China in textile and garment. Now China exports textile and garment more than lObillion dollars and the export of textile and garment to Japan has a proportion of nearly 70% in the gross import of textile and garment of Japan. Meanwhile, China is the biggest export market of Japan in textile and garment too, and the export of textile and garment to China has a proportion of nearly 20% in the gross import of textile and garment of China. But because of the sharply increse in the textile and garment export to Japan, the friction of the textile and garment between China and Japan has gradually become an problem of bilateral economic relation which can not be neglected by both China and Japan. Therefore finding out the development and actuality of China's and Japan's textile industry and the textile and garment trade between China and Japan and the status of the textile and garment trade between China and Japan in foreign trade of China and Japan, analyzing the problems which exist in the development of the textile and garment trade between China and Japan and discussing the countermeasure of the textile and garment export to Japan are very essential for not only the development of the textile and garment industry in China,but also the development of the textile and garment trade. So based on the related statistics, this dissertation analyzed positively on the actuality of the textile and garment trade between China and Japan, the relation between the investment from the textile industry of Japan and the textile and garment trade between China and Japan and the competion of china's textile and garment in Japan. This dissertation includes 5 parts.The first part introduces briefly on the significance and method of the reseach, current research situation and the structure of the dissertation.
