Research On Strategies Of Shipping Company Under The Comanagement Of Shipper And Carrier

With the fierce competition in the shipping industry, the cooperation between shipper and carrier becomes more and more widespread. Some foreign ship owners have tried various kinds of cooperation with shippers. After entering WTO, it becomes a trend for a company to out-source in China. As an important part of supply chain system, shipping industry needs to analyze how to cooperate with companies upstream and downstream. Through the process of designing the strategy of the certain shipping company under the comanagement of shipper and carrier, the paper proposed some general principle of designing strategies for all this kind of shipping companies. Taking a shipping company as an example, the paper analyses the strategy of shipping company under the comanagement of shipper and carrier. So that as the serving company for those two shareholders, it. can develop well and benefit both of the two sides on the basi s of autonomous operation and being responsible for its own profits and loses. Firstly, this paper analyses the environment both outside and inside, then forecasts the consumption of coal by grey model, hence the developing strategy is drawn. Finally, the paper lists some measures to realize those strategies. The purpose of this paper is, on the micro layer, to design a series of feasible strategies for this shipping company. While on the macro layer, this paper can also play a guiding role in the development of all the shipping companies under the comanagement of shipper and carrier.
