With the development of Internet and the coming of knowledge economy, knowledge management is noticed gradually by all kinds of organizations because its functions on improving the creative power of organizations and mining the tacit knowledge of human. Different organizations have different opinions about the newcomer—knowledge management, which results in the existence of many different knowledge management frameworks. It is essential for an organization to build a perfect knowledge management framework before implementing it successfully.The knowledge management framework of the thesis includes two parts: knowledge management model and knowledge management pattern. Model is abstract and stable, and it derives from the rational thinking of human, and it is the sign whether the subject is mature enough. Therefore, knowledge management model is the premise and basis of knowledge management practice. Pattern is the embodiment of model in certain context, so finding out the differences between model and pattern is the premise of knowledge management framework architecture.The introduction explains why to choose such a topic as my thesis. Chapter one discusses the current research on lcnowledge management with the support of conferences, websites, periodicals, experts and magnum opus of knowledge management etc.. Chapter two gives an introduction to knowledge management. In this chapter, the definitions and classes of knowledge, the concepts, parties, origins and developments, contents and tasks of knowledge management was explained reasonedly. Chapter three distinguishes the connotations of model and pattern, explains the definitions and relationships of knowledge management model and pattern. On the basis of which the thesis makes a comparative research on 13 theoretical models and 3 structural models from many angles and concludes the advantages and disadvantages of the models,...
