The port has very important positions in the international trade contacts; it is the passway which steps border trade, the setting-up of the system of the port forms since the result that international trade developed into certain stage. This text starts with the developing history of tracing back to the port and port system, study the port system status and function in international trade, and explain the theory of international trade related to system of the port. After the Opium War (1840-1842), China has been forced to open the gateway of country, the Western imperialist powers force China to be open to its in a series of trading ports, this becomes the beginning that China's modern port system rises. After the eighties of the 20th century, " reform and opening-up " strategy offered the new opportunity for development of the Chinese port system, the port is developed rapidly in the eastern coastal area at first as the pass way of foreign trade, port system get development of leap thereupon too, brand-new port system great push eastern regional economy rejuvenation and prosperity.
