From "Chaos" To "Regulation"

By presenting the process of the reform of funeral and interment minutely which was carried on in a village of central China and considering stretchy, this paper tried to explore the relation between the reform and wider social changes, moreover, it is expect that this cross-subject's research can make a superficial reflection of "Enlighten Narrative" which was used widely in the history writing. It thought that there was an unbroken connection between today's reform and the remote past social historychanges------In fact, the reform was a part of China's pursuit of nation-state building orstate power building which had began from modern time, even there was a latent contact with the "Mission Civilisatrice" of the West which had expanded from 15c in the world. Only under this macro-background, the response of country people and today's reform can understand and interpret appropriately.By the utilization of cross-subject's mean------which pay attention to the responseof country people , analysis and excavate behavioral logic of every side, take note to the group of grass-root unit, the appear of variety, meticulousness, complexity and contingency of history, it also reflected on the "Enlighten Narrative" which has thick colour of teleology and linearity.
