The Study Of Internet Addiction Phenomenon And Strategy Of College Students In Jiangsu-province

Internet has a tremendous influence on the existence of human beings and social life. People have experienced some of the various benefits of computer networks, and meanwhile, many malpractices caused by internet have appeared gradually. So the addiction to internet, a kind of relying on networks resulted from abusing of it, which may be possibly harmful to our study, work, communication and health etc., is concerned firstly.With its development in high education, internet has become a necessary part of college life. The findings of internet addiction research show that college students are more liable to become internet addicts. The addiction to internet which exerts a negative influence on the health of students exists in all universities to some degree.In this article we took some universities in Jiangsu province as the research subjects, adopted the manners of questionnaire, interviews and class-discussion etc., and made a research into the college students' on-line behavior and their addiction to internet.Probe shows that most students can make scientific and rational use of internet, control their on-line behaviors, support their studies and communications, and possess good qualities of using internet and internet information. But 22.6% of the college students have trend of addiction to internet. These students rely on computer networks because through which they obtain a sense of self-satisfaction and a feeling of happiness and achievements, and further more, they lose control over their on-line behaviors and stay on line for a long time which have a negative impact on studies and health. Besides, we find some other problems, for example, many universities lack quality-education for students, and can not supervise the students' on-line behaviors effectively.Through analyzing, we hold that the factors that influence internet addiction among college students are complex. But on the whole, they can be divided into two categories: intrinsic factors and exterior factors. The former includes college students' individual psychology characters, psychology conflicts, self-requirement and so on, and the latter includes social circumstances, college atmosphere, family education and characteristics of network. Because network settings can satisfy college students' diversified and multi-lever demands which cannot be met in reality, college students are induced to be addicted to it. Among the various influencing factors, college students' intrinsic factors are the fundamentality, while the exterior factors including society, school, family surroundings and network features are the inducement.On the basis of all the factors above, according to social cognitive theory, we hold that aiming at the phenomenon of college student' internet addiction, it is vital to set up a precautionary system involving social concernment, governmental recognition, family caring, educational administration school and individual participating of students. And we should build up a good environmental atmosphere and educate, supervise, and lead the students from internet addiction. It is education that fosters college students' quality of network information and improves their communication ability. It is administration that instructs their netting behavior. It isguidance of active college culture and group practices that allure college students to concern reality and all-round development., satisfy their multi-lever and multi-perspective demand of self-reliance, and ultimately promote the realization of their identity and socialization to insure their all-round development...
