WTO And The International Investment Law

With the trend of globalization of economy, the international trade and international investment get closer connection than they were before. And The World Trade Organization(WTO),as the largest international trade organization in the world, its investment agreements must have important influence on the international investment law.Because of the intimate relationship between trade and investment, many agreements of WTO have direct or indirect relationship with investment. They have made great efforts on enhancing the investment protection, improving the investment treatment and realizing the freedom of the global investment. Having research on TRIMs, GATS and the multilateral investment agreement, we will know the influence which WTO has had and will have on the international investment law. So the relationship between WTO and the international investment law and the development trend of the international investment law are becoming an important task, a task that will be required to solve by the current practices. This essay will make initial discussion on these questions from the investment law's angle of the WTO agreements.The article includes 5 parts, as follows:The preface explains the motion of writing, the meaning of the topic and the main logic of the article.Chapter 1: "Overview of the Relationship between WTO and the International Investment Law". This chapter analyzes the intimate relationship between trade and investment. This chapter introduces the main content, legal character, deficiency, development trend and other relevant issues of the TRIMs Agreement. This chapter introduces the generation and main content of GATS. This chapter introduces the generation of the countervailing system of WTO and the agent structure of the SCM agreement.
