Legal profession is a significant component of a democratic system, as well as a main symbol of the development of rule by law in the given society. Meanwhile, the ethical norms governing the legal profession shall be a core element of lawyer system, which norms constitute the most important rules regulating the behavior of the practicing lawyer. This article starts from the analysis of basic theory of licensed lawyer's rule of conduct, i.e.. the status of lawyer's character and social functions, and focuses on the comparison between licensed lawyer's rule of conduct in China and other countries and regions with advanced legal systems. Based on above researches, this article brings forward several proposals concerning the reconstruction of the legal profession in China.
