Two famous scholars in the west point out that: in the early days of English law, professional stratum of the law had come into being. They orgnised themselves in the pattern of guild, by which they could make great influence. That played an very important role in the quality and development of English law.The forming process of professional stratum of the law has been concluded here, so as to analyze the importance of it to the evolution of rule of law in English.This thesis is divided into three parts. Another added part is the introduction, which introduces the definition of legal profession and the writing genesis of the author. A brief conclusion has been draw in the end, in order to make the topic and content more clear.Part one: the trial system in English around thirteenth century. Firstly, the historic background has been discussed, which indicates the connection between the reform of law and the booming of legal class. The author points out the influence of the law reform of HerryII, and introduces the foundation of three royal courts. Both of above led to the beginning of professionalization of judge , narrator and attorney .Part two: The rising of professional stratum of the judge. The professionalism of judge appeared earlier than that of legal profession. By the historic clues, the process from germination to independent class of professional stratum of the judge has been analyzed. The professionalism of judge began at Herryll, and the intensity increased at Rechard II,.Until HerryII III a professional stratum of the judge had appeared..
