The Status Research Of Lasa City Women

On the way to the globalization in 21st century, when the economic and social development is the goal of the world, "human" as the primary element of human-oriented society today should be directly benefited by it without differing between gender and race or nationality. Each member of society has the willingness and capability to join in social production activities. During this process, women may also be treated equally while they are taking an increasingly more important role in the all-round development of society.Tibetan Women in China today is enjoying the benefits of society developments in China, although they were actually the victim of social inequality in the history of Tibet. Now this article focuses on the position of Tibetan women including family position and social position on the basis of the woman investigation in the city of Lasa, and takes the statistical method to analyze its changing process and in the background of China's structure modification. In the article there are five sections. The first section is the overall description of the basic existence state and living conditions of the Lasa women and their family. The second and the third sections are mainly analyzing their family and social status including the deciding rights in marriage and marital relationship, and differing in education, profession, earnings of the Han and Zang minortity. The fourth section is the gender ideas of Zang nationality women and their attitude towards bearing children.Because the rise of women social status signifies the advancement of a culture and civilization, one condition of building a new harmonious society in China should the realization of equity between different social groups. And the improvement of women's status itself is one part of the whole society's growth in some way. So the analyze of Tibetan women's status changing process help see the whole situation of women's status in Tibet.
