With the Xiaolangdi Reservoir's being put into operation and the change of input of water and sediment into the Sanmenxia Reservoir, how to adjust the operation schemes of the Sanmenxia Reservoir has been one of hottest topics in the water resources domain. It is certain that the alteration of the operation scheme of the Sanmenxia Reservoir brings lots of new problems to the operation of the Sanmenxia Reservoir. The original dispatch pattern of Sanmenxia Reservoir must be adjusted and optimized according to the present actual need, therefore it is necessary to analyze its inherent laws thoroughly. There is a profound significance in respect of Yellow River's management, the large-scale hydro-junction project utilization in the future and understanding the sediment-rich rivers' law to tap the potential in situation of the water resources limited and display Sanmenxia Reservoir's huge function fully and to seek the Sanmenxia Reservoir dispatcher's optimized space and find the effective implementation way.The primary factors, many kinds of goals and constraints involved in the optimization of Sanmenxia Reservoir dispatching have been analyzed in detail in this thesis. The thorough research has been made in reservoir optimization of different period in prototype experiment, the modles for optimization of the Sanmenxia Reservoir dispatching in non-flood season and flood season have been established, which are of single objective and multi-objectives respectively. In multi-objective optimization, not only the electricity generation goal but also the discharge of silt goal should be considered for the flood season. Method has been used to determine the relations of them in this thesis, and the modles being calculated with the Genetic Algorithms method.Besides, the program proper has been made using VB , which is easy to operate.
