The biodiversity briefly means the diversity and variety of the creature and the ecological compound. At present most of the experts believe that the biodiversity can be divided into three main parts: the diversity of the heredity, the diversity of the creature and the diversity of the ecosystem. The biodiversity is indispensable for our human beings to live on and it is also the base of the continuous development of the society. The protection of the biodiversity is one of the hotspot problems in the protection of the environment in the world, which has attracted more and more attention from the international society. Protecting the biodiversity and making good use of the natural resource is a global task, and it is also important content of the cooperation between the environment and the continuous development. Our country is one of the countries which have the richest biodiversity in the world. Meantime our country is one of the countries whose biodiversity has been badly threatened in the world. Thus we have to take means to protect the biodiversity right now. This article tries to discuss how to protect the biodiversity by means of law. The article systematically introduces the concept of the biodiversity, the present situation and the problems of it, and this article also analyses the reasons of the problems. In the end the author offers some concrete means on how to protect the diversity by law. The means include strengthening the property of the natural resource and the environmental tax revenue system. Nowadays our country has fixed the aim of building up harmony society and the protection of the biodiversity will be included. So it is of great meanings for us to protect the biodiversity.
