Corruption will endanger a country just as what rotten wood will do to a healthy tree. Everybody knows the harm of corruption while at the same time corruption itself appears to be never ending. To individuals, corruption may enrich their property temporarily while it will make their spirit slack; to the others in the society, they may suffer from corruption; to the government and the party, corruption will affect their fame, or even worse still, their credit and legitimacy; to the state, short-term corruption will become its burden while long-term ones will be even worse. Anti-corruption is the present day trend. China now is the member state of United Nations Convention against Corruption (Convention hereafter). The Convention provides basic legal guide and accepted principles for the struggle against corruption while at the same time our corresponding legal institution is not intact, which brings some differences between the regulations of the Convention and that of China. Our regulation concerning corruption makes it very difficult to deal with escaped corrupted officials and to retract their property. Efforts have been made in this paper to analyze the problems and ways of solution concerning the extradition of escaped officials and retract of property from corruption. It is hoped that my efforts can lend some light on the subject matter.Chapter one of this paper is devoted to the general introduction of the Convention and other relevant institutions.
