An Attempt To Assay The Cultural Thought Of Chen Yun

This article mainly assays the cultural thought of Chen Yun. There is much study on the cultural thought of Chen Yun. It was the 100^th year of the birth of Chen Yun. So many more writings about it came out. But it is still a blank space in the study of sphere of learning. Studying the thought of Chen Yun has an important value. It has much important enlightenment for our career of cultural construction and advanced culture.This article is divided into five parts. They are the source of the cultural thought of Chen Yun, the content of the cultural thought of Chen Yun, the distinguishing feature of the cultural thought of Chen Yun, the valuation for the cultural thought of Chen Yun and the enlightenment from the cultural thought of Chen Yun. This article tries to assay the cultural thought of Chen Yun from these five parts and get my own view.First, this article discusses the source of the cultural thought of Chen Yun. Any cultural thought has its ground for existence. After the May 4th Movement, crash between new and old culture, home and abroad culture took place. So the cultural thought of Chen Yun has two sources. One is the traditional culture of China, the other is absorb from the culture of the proletariat.The second part mainly discusses the content of the cultural thought of Chen Yun. The cultural thought of Chen Yun is very abundant. Firstly, Chen Yun viewed to hold the correct direction of national art. Secondly, we should inherit the cultural property of the people. Thirdly, new cultural construction should be carried out. Fourthly, the intelligentsia could not be divided from the cultural construction. Fifthly, we should do well in propagate of medium. At last, party members should study advanced culture constantly.The third part analyses the character of the cultural thought of Chen Yun. Because the cultural thought of Chen Yun came from the traditional culture of China and the culture of the proletariat, it had four characters. They were national, open, public and developed. "National" meant "only" . "Open" indicated partly coming from the abroad. "Public" showed that culture should service for the public. "Developed" meant that culture should develop as the society.The fourth part tries to estimate the effect of the cultural thought of Chen Yun in history. The cultural thought of Chen Yun promoted the process of revolution and pushed forward the cultural career of the New China. So, the cultural thought of Chen Yun also enriched the thought of Mao Zedong and the theory of Deng Xiaoping.The last part discusses the guidance for our work nowadays. National cultural inheritance is the valuable knowledge wealth. Chen Yun stood to inherit the national cultural inheritance. He supplied good way for our word on national cultural inheritance.
