At the end of the 20th century, the most outstanding changes must be the upheaval of the East Europe, disintegration of Soviet Union and the end of the two-pole situation. The end of the cold war prepares the system for the globalization, and globalization in economy has been developing smoothly, excising its far-reaching influence. The term"globalization"has become a frequently-quoted, vaguely-implied one. The globalization has become most important subject in the field of sociology, providing us with indispensable insight into the understanding and study of the today's world affairs.On the 11th of September of 2000, a bang of terrorists of unknown nationality launched most severe attack on the mainland of United States ever since the sneak attack on the Pearl Harbor: hijacking of the unarmed civil airplane to attack American world trading center, the Pentagon, etc. The so-called first-class American military force and intelligence institutions become powerless before terrorists. After being attacked, America was deprived of her advantaged confidence and the sense of security.Globalization and terrorism are today's heated topics. According to Marxism, any social phenomenon does not exist independently but has a close relationship with its social background. The rampant terrorism in today's world has an inner link with the developing pattern of globalization. The rise and spread of terrorism has its profound social origins. The globalization headed by the Western developed countries did not rid them of such origins while intensifying existing conflicts. The globalization has become the seedbed for terrorism which accompanies the globalization all the way: it accelerates the difference between the South and the North, the polarization of the wealth; hastens the conflicts of different cultures and religious beliefs; speeds up the promotion of high technology and advanced weapon technology, which modernizes the terrorist's weapons; places the western countries under the stress of shifting their development priority to the east, as a result, worsening the"modernization frustration"situation in underdeveloped countries. America's short-sighted behaviour may be the remote cause for the wild...
