Impermanence, ignorance, inaction are the key words of Sakyamuni, Socrates.,Laozi, the three thinkers in axis age. This article will illustrate how they also become three "key words" to summarize the postmodernism. Firstly, the sameness of postmodernism and Sakyamuni is : they all deconstruct the world, destroying all the steady things through emphasizing the "impermanence"—"variability" of the factors which construct the world; Their purposes to deconstruct the world are alike: to liberate us from the world's control and restraint upon us so as to give us more freedom; The causes of them to deconstruct the world are also alike: all out of the reflection to the variable reality of the world; Th eir explanation to the reason of "impermanence" and "variability" are still alike: things are always in a net of relationship, decided by condition, having only temporary meaning. The sameness of postmodernism and Socrates is that they all prore the ignorance of man to the terminal truth, terminal meaning: Socrates made a factual provementthrough nis failure to pursue the terminal meaning of the conceptions, while postmodernism made a theoretic provement through illustrating the difference ,dissemination,, trace., supplement of the text's meaning, proving that the terminal meaning can not be acquired and the pursuit to it is a unending course, which is just according to the status of Socrates' dialogue, so they can verify each other.The sameness of postmodernism and Laozi is that they all advocate an aattitude and mode of "inaction".
