The armaments industry of U.S. has been developing rapidly since the World War Two. The armaments industry of U.S. has played an important role in American domestic industry and the world military industry as well. As the only superpower today, armaments industry is the indispensable part of the comprehensive national power of U.S., and serves as a significant element in the country's foreign relations.Therefore, the study on the armaments issues in American politics and economy is an essential prerequisite to understand America's domestic and foreign policy. Undoubtedly, there are a lot of academic works on the armaments industry of U.S., but this paper focuses on the cooperation and conflict connected with the production and sale of the U.S. armaments.The dissertation includes five parts as the following:Part I, Based on the observation of the development and influence of the U.S. armaments industry, this part aims to reveal its importance during the development of U.S..Part II makes an introduction on all the actors, which include the government, interests groups, research institutions and media involved in armaments industry issues.Part III introduces the systematic factors and the elements which influence the conflict and cooperation among the relative actors.Part IV ,served as the main body of the dissertation, probes the different forms of conflict and cooperation in terms of the research, production, sales of armaments .Then comes the case study. Taken as the typical case for analysis, the B-2 Bomber example fully demonstrates the importance and complexity of the conflict and cooperation among all actors involved.
