Victims of crimes are important subjects in criminal justice. Whereas, procedural status of victims gradually declined in modern times. Until the 20th century, victim only took the role of the accusing party's witness in the West, and their rights usually were ignored. Such phenomena raised the reconsideration by the western academic circle of criminal justice and the social public. Under such circumstances, the movement of Rediscovery of Crime Victims was initiated both in the theory and the legislation. In North America, Professor Beloof and Professor Roach respectively brought forward the model of criminal process which includes victim's participation, distinguishing from the theory of Two Models of Criminal Process of Packer. The new model theories made the reconsideration movement reach its new theoretical height.Victims, treated as the subjects of legal procedure, should be respected.
