Profound changes have taken place in the relationship between two systems– socialism and capitalism in the 21st century with trend of economic globalization gradually sharpening.For the purpose of exploiting the deeply-rooted elements causing those changes and then presenting some beneficial suggestion to socialist nations on how to cope with the emerging changes in the relations between the two systems in the era of globalization, in the dissertation , a study ,based on the fruit of previous research and guided by the Marxism ,historical materialism and dialectical materialism ,is made on the traces and history of the theoretical research , the experience or lessons left and further the tendency of development, with methods lying on historical files and comparative means of study applied.Firstly, in this dissertation, analysis is done on the development process of the thoughts of those Marxism classical writers and their successors .further, it is finally concluded through the study on both the development history of the relationship between the two systems and the experience and lessons earned by the socialist nations in dealing with the their relations with those capitalist counterparts that the deeply-rooted reason causing the changes lie in the fact that the absolute antagonism in ideology has been converted to concentration on national interests with the attempt to seek common ground while reserving differences for co-development.The thesis also has done a research on new characteristics and development trends of the relationship in the era of globalization. The new characteristics are mainly: 1. Capitalism remains dominant in modern international relations while socialism and democratic and progressive forces play an increasingly positive role; 2. There will be long and comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between the two systems. The development trends of their relations in the new era are mainly: 1. Dialogue, exchange and cooperation will become historical trends for quite a long time in the future; 2.Economic and technological elements will play a dominant role among all that affects the relations. Competition of the comprehensive national strength will rise to be most important in the relations while ideology will decline to a less important consideration; 3. Their conflict still exists with new contradictionsemerging and even become acute sometimes under the cover of more surfaces; 4. Various irreconcilable contradictions in capitalism will be more intensifying with the further development of economic globalization, which will promote great rejuvenation of socialist movement in the world.Through the study on the new characters and the tendency of development of the relationship between the two systems, some proper measures of dealing with the relationship of this kind can be presented:1. Insist on the theme of development2. Uphold socialism ideology with Marxism as its core to safeguard our national sovereignty and security (territorial integrity);3. Comprehensively understand and properly handle the relations involving conflict and cooperation with capitalist countries especially developed countries to take advantages of capitalism in building socialism.
