The purpose of studying history is for the future. In the history and nowadays Chinese revolution, socialist construction and reforming and opening to the world have always been connected with capitalism in complexity. Studying Mao's thought on how to deal with capitalism will surely provide us with important experience and lesson. Nowadays and in the future, correctly understanding and dealing with capitalism, especially private capitalism economy, will help us better stick to and consummate our socialist primary period basic system, absorb and apply the advanced achievements of the whole society, including capitalism, to socialism, and quicken the pace of the course of socialism with Chinese characteristics.The whole paper includes foreword and five parts of the main body.Part one mainly deals with Mao's historical understanding of the relation of the new democratic revolution , the new democratic society and capitalism. Mao also clearly affirm that the future society must have a large development in private capitalism, which in the meanwhile should be restricted for the growing of the socialism factors.Part two mainly deals with Mao's historical understanding of the relation of the socialism and capitalism. Socialism revolution with Chinese characteristics means capitalism extinction. Chinese socialist construction can develop to some degree capitalism after eliminating the roots of capitalism. He proposes some views with clear Chinese characteristics on how to understanding Chinese capitalism. In the new democratic revolution period his understanding is the best symbol in the CCP. Mao's understanding of Chinese capitalism has dual characters, which is interlocked with strategy and tactics. He mainly understands Chinese capitalism from the point of strategy, which changes with his understanding of Chinese capitalism.
