Study On Western Humanism And The Cultivation Of Chinese National Humanistic Spirit

China's opening policies bring us more opportunities for advancement, owing to which Chinese national culture and the traditional concept of value are seriously challenged. Then, in regarding China's historical environment and in deriving nourishment from the variety of cultures by a critique way, the arduous task is to cultivate Chinese national spirit for the need of modern times.This paper, with the guidance of the basic principles and methodology of Marxism, by adopting the principle of materialistic concept of history and the comparative & synthetic research methods, reveals humanism and its significance in the development of society, interprets the historical origins of Western humanism, and presents the scientific attitude to use Western humanism as a reference. In the comparative study of Western humanism and Chinese humanistic spirit, this paper also relates the practical environment and cultivation system for Chinese humanistic spirit. And it is definitely pointed out that the cultivation of humanistic spirit is a certain choice for Chinese nation's prosperity.The cultivation of humanistic spirit is closely related to social development, which is a long- term hard work. The study of the cultivation of humanistic spirit should be taken further to meet the need the changing and developing society.
