A Study On The Relationship Of Army Officers' Social Support And Coping

The phrase"coping"is put forward by Lazarus. Coping is used to express the activity thata person keep the mental balance to orient environment whenhe is nervous caused by the exterior stimulation.But different scholar has different explaination to this phrase.The people have better understanding forcoping. Coping is continuous cognition and the behavior effort .The expression generally accepted.It is a complicated process to coping, including copingsource, coping strategy and coping way etc..Coping way is method, means or strategies people adopted to deal with inside and outside environment requestand its related motion harassment.It is the result of interaction between stable factor and the scene factors.The research on coping is the complement of the traditional psychology.It help promot our comprehension.Army officier caused our attention.The study on relation of coping and social support, personality can provide us certainly draw lessons.The research on personality characteristic and social support enrich army officiers'coping knowledge and copingresource.It also provide the basis that strengthen their coping intervention and training .Army officer coping, that is regarded as one of the core subjects of studies on army and on copinghas interested many psychologists these days. In both internal and external causes perspective, this study investigated the relationship among three factors such as army officers, social support, personality characteristics and coping according to questionnaire survey to 153 army officiers.The study analyzed the data with Spss13.0 for Windows by way of descriptive statistics, compare means, correlation analysis and layer regression analysis.This study draws the following conclusions:1,The army officiers hold higher level of solve problem ,lowerlevel of self-accusation,average level of asking for help and avoidance, lower level of imagination and rationalization. Significant differences exist on asking for help between army officers from different classes.2,There are no diferences on subjective social support, objective social support, social support using and whole social support between classes. There are nearly no diferences on social supportusing among all army officers.3,There are no diferences on personality characteristics of P,N,E and L between army officers from different classes.4,Significant correlation exists between social support and personality characteristics.5,Significant correlation exists between social support and coping. Significant positive correlation exists between subjective social support, objective social support, social support using and whole social support and solve problem. Significant correlation exists between social support and coping. Significant negative correlation exists between subjective social support, objective social support, social support using and whole social support and self-accusation.Significant positive correlation exists between subjective social support, objective social support,social support using and asking for help.Significant negative correlation exists between objective social support, whole social support and imagination. We would have a good cognition of their mental characteristics and variety regulation.It do help them acquire ideal, the morals, the culture and the discipline.
