Research On The Problems Of "Violence Against Women"

"Violence Against Women"aims at the violent encroaching behavior against women because of women themselvesor the situation where females are subjected to more harm than males. (e.g. sex harrassment, kidnapping and selling of women and the harm done a second time to women who have already been attacked by public opinion). In the"Declaration on Eradicating the Violent Behaviors Against Women"passed by UN in 1993, the concept of"Violence Against Women"is defined as"any violent behavior based on gender, which has caused or can possibly cause harm or pain to women both mentally, physically or sextually, including threatening to impose such actions, using force, or wantonly depriving the freedom, be it happening in public or private lives."Violence Against Women"is omnipresent, which has become a worldwide serious problem. Ever since the 1970s, a series of preventative measures have been taken by the international society. China has also set up lots of relevant laws and regulations. In spite of that, the conducts of"Violence Against Women"have not been contained effectively."Violence will be omnipresent only when the society itself allows or permits it"2. In my opinion, the tradional positioning against both genders by our society, namely traditional gender's order is the real source that has brought about the status gaps between both genders, which further causes"violence against women". Therefore, the following thesis attempts to analyse the psychological sources of our society which constantly creates the phenomena of"Violence Against Women"from the gender's order. Meanwhile based on it promotes the relevant countermeasures against such phenomena .The whole thesis is divided into four parts, main contents of which can be read as follows separately:In the introduction, the writer mainly illustrates the theme and the significance of this thesis. It also gives a simplified introduction of the research status on the problem of"Violence Against Women"and it explains what the concept of"Violence Against Women"and gender's order is.The first part of the body describes the status of"Violence Against Women"worldwide and emphasizes the impact of"Violence Against Women"by the examination of such phenomena as"Harm Again","Back Reaction of the harmed".The second part examines the influence brought about by the construction and development of culture and economy on traditional gender's order while it discusses mainly how gender's order hastens the"Violence Against Women"through three channels of male's violent culture, the split up identity relationship both in public and private fields, the sextual morals of dual standards.The third part gives concrete countermeasures and suggestions against the above three channels (male's violent culture, the split up identity relationship both in public and private fields, the sextual morals of dual standards) after the writer's examination and comments on the existing advanced practice and experience from both home and abroad , combining our country's real state conditions.
