The United Nations has dressed it clearly that: “Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world",political gender equality is one of the most fundamental way to achieve the gender equality in every levels of the world. In our society, gender equality in politics is far from a reality. However, the situation of women in American political ecology and the gender gap in general election,is undoubtedly an excellent example, will give us a good way to understand how gender disadvantage women from seeking higher or the highest office, what makes the gender becomes a resistance and an advantage. This article takes two highest and most powerful unit in the political ecology of the United States, member of congress and president, and focuses on the presidential elections, especially about the second presidential campaign of Hilary Clinton.I take a prospective from female voters and the female presidential candidates, especially Hillary Clinton, want to try to explore the linkage between “gender stereotype” and “gender gap”.The article takes the “sex”,“gender”,“gender stereotypes”,“gender schema theory ”and the "SDO theory" as the core concepts and theory to explore the phenomenon and resources of gender gap in the general election, and to discuss about what role gender factor does in the voting behavior and voting preferences.Meanwhile, through the discussion of media bias and voter preference about the female presidential candidate in the general election, try to explore the dilemma between gender bias and the distance between women and the highest office in American politics. The study finds that, the United States political ecology still does exist gender inequality, mainly in the form of women's rising predicament,In the top of the political ecology of the United States, women are particularly vulnerable, there has no one women who has successfully achieved the president's position.Women's rising predicament,is not only the reality of the lack of the women representation in the office, but reflects the fact that, women have been stuck in the downstream of the political ecology of the United States for quite a long time.Although opinion polls show that, most Americans have approved women's leadership, but women still face “gender stereotypes” in elections, afflicted by t a double bias from both voters and the media. In addition to "gender stereotypes",women generally lack political ambition, leading to insufficient female turnout. The lack of women political ambition also makes an important role in restricting women from the highest office in the politicalecology of the United States.Gender gap in the US election refers to the difference between the male and female in voting behavior and voting preferences. On one hand,it means much more women has a preference over female candidates, especially democratic. On the contrast, men tend to support Republican candidates;on the other hand, gender identity does not make an equal important role as partisan difference does. Therefore, the loss of votes of male candidate, which rooted in "gender stereotypes”,cannot be made up by gender gap by the way of female voters' preference.
