It is an indisputable fact that the concept of "human rights" came into being in the neoteric west. This conception, budding during the Renaissance long before the prelude of neoteric bourgeoisie's fights against feudalism and religious bondage with their ideas of "liberty and equality", tested by renaissance as well as French Enlightment, became the first sign of bourgeois revolution. The main tune of that epoch, which publicized humanity, disseminated logos and pursued truth, in its unprecedented theoretical power, played the rule of idealistic weapon in combating feudal despotism. As a great mentor fighting for liberty, Karl Marx strived after practical liberty. Mainly starting with human rights, his early exoterica is provided with intense political criticism and reflected his inward the trace of humanistic materialism. Marx's integral ideology is an evolving self-denial from idealism to humanistic materialism and then to practical materialism. The materialist conception of history founded by Marx and Engles comprises the Arcanum in which ideological superstructure and legal right superstructure corresponding to economic facts. It is not only the key to the enigma of "human rights" but also the root of why Marxian concept of human rights surpasses others'. Therefore tracing to the source of his ideas on human rights wants for a profound review and analysis of his philosophical basis. This thesis is divided into four parts:According to the track and phases of Marxian philosophy, Chapter one examines the logic development of Marxian concept of human rights which van be divided into four main phases from a superficial facet to a deep one.Chapter two focuses on the philosophical basis and theoretical precondition of Marxian concept of human rights, which comprises the ideas on hominine inbeing, the hominine development, the theory of civil society and the materialist conception of history, via which Marx established the basis of his conception of human rights. The innovative trait of this thesis lies in the fact that, by way of studying afresh these issues, it can in word and deed get at the root of the matter.Chapter three discusses the main contents of Marxian concept of human rights. On the basis of his classical text, keeping to his philosophy on hominine issues and uniting the current misunderstandings on Marxian ideas on human rights, this thesis dialectically deciphers the characteristics and quiddities of Marxian ideas on human rights.Chapter four expatiates on the contemporary significance of Marxian ideas on human rights. Being superior to bourgeois human right concept, Marxian ideas bear a far-reaching and forward-looking vision, which profoundly enlightens and guides either the solution of today's international human right issues or the construction of Marxian human rights conception as well as the reinforcing of socialist human rights building.
