Zhang Junmai, who described himself as "won't forget politics because of philosophy, as well as won't forget philosophy because of politics", maintained his interest in academics and politics all his life, whose political philosophy was actually concerning about the knowledge of relation between nation, society and individual. According to the abuse of Western-style democratic system and the national crisis which is increasingly grave in modern China, Zhang Junmai, standing on the side of "nation standard", tried to compromise the conflict between "freedom and power" in theory so as to correct the democracy which "based at human rights", moreover, he considered this "corrected democracy" as "the third" political solution besides "parliamentary politics" and "autocracy".And that, his economic claim of "socialism", which aimed to resolve the problem of unifying "personal freedom and social justice", was to attain "the independence of the politics" beard to carry out with "the independence of the economy". According to these, Zhang thought that it could be obtained a "new mental attitude" to achieve "rational politics", which is democratic constitutionalism, and could be to make China stronger.However, during the fulfillment process in the modern China, Zhang Junmai' political appeal hadn't achieved at the ideal result that he expected. Still, there were some reasonable factors contained in his thought, that what we shouldn't be abandoned but be utilized and developed when constructing the modern nation.
