The Dong ethnic group in China has many festivals and loves festive activities. The pleasure, freedom and transcendence of its festive activities are in essence consistent with aesthetic activities and contain rich aesthetic connotations. These aesthetic connotations lead to the dominant aesthetic ideal of harmony. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part describes harmony from harmony among people, harmony between time and space, harmony in aesthetic means and harmony in the significance of festivals, and concludes that the wide variety of Dong festivals is aesthetic activities embodying the characteristics of harmony; The second part reveals the nature of harmony and points out the significance and function of harmony in the survival and development of the Dong ethnic group from the four aspects of anti-secularity, anti-structure, cohesion of Heaven, Earth, Man and God and following the course of nature; The third part discusses the aesthetic formation of harmony in festive activities through the four aspects of living, rise, pleasure, travel.Discovering and putting forwarding the dominant aesthetic ideal of harmony in Dong ethnic festive culture not only help us better understand the Dong ethnic, reflect on today's festive culture, but also provide ideological and spiritual resources for the ongoing practice of building a harmonious society in China.
