Although researches on the right of privacy is still in the ascendant in China, individual privacy on Internet becomes another hot issue, which treads upon the heels of the computer technology and Internet economy development. Internet expands the space and scope of socialization, while simultaneously diminishes people's privacy space. While enjoying the high efficiency and convenience brought by Internet, people are taking the risk that their privacy is being invaded. The fact that privacy is being infracted in such a common occurrence on Internet and even more and more fierce is due to the nature of Internet and the temptation of the benefits brought by e-commerce, in addition to people's unawareness of self-protection. This issue is given highly attention in many countries, and people's privacy right on Internet is protected by the government through strengthening legislations and other methods. The Internet technology and the whole information industry in China grew up relatively late, however, develops rapidly. In this case, strengthening the protection of people's privacy fight on Internet is an urgent affair.Except the introduction, this dissertation consists of three parts as follows:The first part commences from the characteristics of infringement of privacy fight on Internet, comparing its subjects, objects, means and consequences with traditional privacy infringement and introducing couples of typical infringement behaviors. Armed with this knowledge, it discusses how to acquire remedies according to the civil law.The second part introduces how some developed countries protect people's fight of privacy on Internet, and take the industry self-discipline mode in the United States and the legislations and regulations mode in EU as examples to compare and analyze, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of each. After analyzing the international trend of protection mode in the future, it demonstrates that a comprehensive protection mode which puts legislations and regulations in the first place while self-discipline as assistance is more suitable in China under our own situation.The third part describes the status quo of legal protection of Internet privacy fight in our country, thus indicates the existing legal loopholes in the current law. Furthermore, with the expectation of contributing to this area, it puts forward some suggestions in detail on how to establish the whole protection system of Internet privacy right in our country through building up the legal protection system and self-discipline system, combining other countermeasures.
