As tow famous philosophers in western modern politics thinking, Hobbes and John Locke's theory of natural rights are very important to the politics system of western modern. In my papers, I want to get a clear understanding about their theories of social contract by contrast, and illustrate that Locke's theory is a continuation and development of Hobbes. and further stress the important position of social contract, as well as bring to light the defect of theirs.Firstly, I think contract contain inherent the conception of liberty, quality, mutually beneficial ,All these are the basis of theory of natural rights.Secondly, In terms of how to build the nation, The present study made an in-depth comparison between theirs. Based on the foundation of humanism, the association of natural law and reason, the motive and the build up of nation, Locke's modification and prolongation towards Hobbes'theory are demonstrated.Finally, According to the discussion hereinbefore, The author ulteriorly disclose the contemporary significance of Social Contract supporters' viewpoint towards the relationship between individual and nation, the own issue of social contract and the position of "righteousness" in it.
