Analysis Of Mauritius Democratic Politics

In the past 30 years, an island country of Indian Ocean named Mauritius has developed into a"sunny country",and an"economic lion of Africa"which can be compared with the four little dragon of Asian by reasons of her new harmonious development pattern of economy, society and culture. Mauritius has been gradually developed into a relatively mature and steady democratic country, in which her transition of power is smooth, her impartiality of election is generally accepted and both her internal racial conflict and party contradiction can be resolved under the law. Compared with other parts of the continent of Africa where national contradiction and racial confliction occurred frequently, Mauritius has kept a political stability and economic development in the periods.In 1st part, a review about Mauritius's political and history before she becoming independent, the independence movement and the political system constituted by the law in 1968 is presented. Before her becoming independent, Mauritius was firstly under the power of France colony and then British, and at the moment she was held economically and culturally backward. But through the Parliament struggles and constitution negotiations, Mauritius acquired their independent peacefully and became a constitutional monarchy country with a multi-party system.In 2nd part, this paper deal with more than 30 years construction fruits of Mauritius from several aspects such as her operation of political party system, her supervision and balance, her economic developments and her stability of politics. And we also analyze the reasons and backgrounds of the amendment which convert the country system from constitutional monarchy to parliament republicanism, including the influence of the great nations of the West, the promoting of the political democratization and the pressure of internal political democracy. In sectionâ…¢, this paper set about the reflects of the reality of racial conflict, and then analyze the problems exist in the processing of constructing democracy, which include the confliction of racial, the bug of a general election, the loss of justice and the corruption politics. At last, we conclude that this problem will affect the development of Mauritius's democracy politics in a considerable length of time.In 3rd part, this paper give a brief refer to the basement of Mauritius'democracy politics'development. In the end, from her accomplished stability of politics,development of society and economy in the passed years, we can optimistic about her democracy politics affirmatively in the future.In the last part, the foundation for the development of democracy was introduced in the following success achieved in different aspects: politics stabilization, development of economics, progress of society and etc. Therefore, the outlook of development of democracy in Mauritius is optimistic.
