In recent years, there have been increasingly severe infringements of police rights and interests, which has upgraded into an urgent problem that our state and society must confront and cope with. The key to solving this problem is to define precisely both the connotation and the extension of police rights, corrently understand and differentiate the two different concepts:the police rights and the police power. We should change the traditional theory for human rights which restrains the police as the opposite of the human rights. Though surveying the status quo of subsistence of the police,we find that the "public protectors" are facing large pressure: during enforcing the law ,they are sometimes suffering hittng,abusing,threat,ect..Secondly,too many non-police activities and tasks lead to the misunderstanding and no support from the public.Thirdly, large quality of assignments contribute to little get-together with the family and the rest right cannot obtain the safeguard. All of these facts lead to mental problem , unpleasant life and bad health condition of China's police, especially the first-line police.. Via analyzing the current living condition of the police, we can get to know the reason why the rights of the police are being infringed. The first and foremost reason lies in the faulty legislation system, which would jeopardize the 'hard environment' in which police officers execute their obligations. Secondly, inaccurate direction of public opinion, plus insufficient public juristic consciousness, would induce an unfavorable 'soft environment'. Moreover, the 'high-expense, low-return' plight of police department is a problem that desiderates government's awareness. The last but not least reason stems from the professional qualities of police officers themselves. There are several ways listed below to reinforce the protection of police rights. First, improve legislations and related regulations, thus giving sufficient legal protection to law enforcements carried out by police. Secondly, manipulate police forces legally and reasonably, and improve the communication and coordination between government departments, hence emancipating police officers from trivial non-police activities and tasks. Thirdly, lead public opinions on right directions and construct a favorable environment for law enforcement. Fourthly, offer adequate financial support to police department and improve their pay moderately, accordingly keeping their balanced mentality. Finally, manage the police force strictly, enhance police officer's professional qualities and skills, and try to construct a harmonious relationship between police and citizens.
