| The early foundation and development of Chinese Navy is in the mid-60th of the 19th century when the Qing government began to set up shipbuilding factories. The localization of the vessels equipment of Qing Dynasty wrote a grief page in the history of the development of Chinese Navy, leaving behind a lot of reflection and worthy lessons. In this paper, we set the localization of the armada arming of the late Qing Dynasty as the main line, in order to indicate the reasons why it sprang up slowly but decayed rapidly, and why it was difficult to success while easy to defeat. The preface presented the gist of this paper and its practical significance, simply summed up some relative academic research results and introduced the idea of writing this article.Text of four partsFirst, the historical evolution and practical activities of the naval vessels equipment localization in the late Qing Dynasty. The activities including of Jiangnan Ship Manufacturing Bureau and Fuzhou Ship Building Bureau. It focus on the development of the localization vessels.Second, the obstacles and shortcomings of the evolution on the localization of naval vessels equipment, such as obstacles from foreign countries, conservative social environment, ideological constraints, impact of imports to localization, and pressures from treasury, technology and talent. At the same time, introduce how some people to solve these obstacles and promote the development of the shipbuilding industry.Third, reflections on domestic of the naval vessels to the late Qing Dynasty.Concluding the late Qing Dynasty failure reasons from the naval vessels development through the domestically produced vessels play a practical role in the Sino-Japanese, as well as China and Japan make vessels' comparative analysis respectively before the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-95.Last, Concluding of the late Qing dynasty navy vessels equipment manufacture localization and further ponder of it with the hope that achieves learning from history.
