In Indian society, Untouchables has been endured the miserable life for thousands of years. As one of the Untouchables, Dr Ambedkar had tried to look for the approaches to change their lives. The discrimination and indignity which came from the high castes, and the unbowed character that was the Mahar's native character made him to do so. On the other hand , the family effect, especially his father was a example for him to brought up his diligency, curiousness, grittiness and have the courage to shoulder the important task, because his father study hard to change his social degree, and was always concerned about the Untouchables'living condition. All those was the important factor that he could lead the Untouchables to revolt to the Castes and the Hinduism. During the time of studied abroad in European countries and the America, he not only accumulated abundant knowledge, but also thought about the question that how to construct the equal society for the Indian. He formed his particular opinion for the Castes and the Hinduism, on the base of the viewpoint of Indian native thinkers and the western torchbearers, he understood that the only approach to eliminate the oppression and discrimination was revolt to the Castes and the Hinduism. There were many kinds of means which Dr.Ambedkar adopted to struggle. Firstly, he attacked the Caste System and the Hinduism with disclosing their inbeing unrelentingly and pointing out that they were the root of inequality, and indicated the Untouchables how to strive against the Caste System and the Hinduism. As far as the Untouchables obtained the rights concerned, Dr.Ambedkar considered that they ought to obtain the political rights firstly. And so, he choose the English colonial government and the National Congress Party as his collaborator, in the course of collaboration, Dr.Ambedkar won over some rights including political, economic and societal rights for the Untouchables. To obtain more and more rights, he organize the party to join the general election in order to enlarge the number of Untouchables in the government and parliament. But when all of his endeavors failed, he did not give up, but choose to convert to the Buddhism as his last struggle, because he considered that the Buddhism was a religion with characteristic of equality, and that could obtain the equal and happiness, so he called on the Untouchables to abandoned the Hinduism. The struggle which Dr.Ambedkar led was conforms to the historical trend. In the face of difficulty, he persisted in striving for equality with the persevering spirit. At a certain extend, he procured accomplishment, for he remodeled social orders partly, the Indian began to accept some equal conception and, in a way, took on democratic consciousness. But, His opponent were the Castes and the Hinduism, which have been ruled the Indian for thousands of years, in Indians'opinion, they were holy and inviolable. The high Castes mastered the primary power, so he was passive in the struggle. In addition, he hasn't confederate who had the same ideal just as him and there were some deficiency in his struggle and so on, the inequality of Indian society wasn't eliminated yet, the Law which Dr.Ambedkar constituted to guarantee the equal social degree for low castes was also a mere scrap of paper, the Castes and the Hinduism were also sovereign, ruling the Indian's action. In modern Indian society, especially in the country, the phenomenon of"Untouch"were common occurance. It is a long-time task to eliminate the inequality of Indian society, and it needs the continuous endeavors of generations. Although Dr.Ambedkar didn't overthrow the Castes system, but it is significative that he aroused the revolted consciousness. To this day, a large number of Untouchables assemble to commemorate his converting the Buddhism on the day when he died. He is the Untouchables'spiritual leader, and the enduring monument in modern Indian history.
