A Research On The Leisure Lifestyle Of White-collar Youth

As the development of China's economy and society, our country has implemented a daily eight-hour work system since 1994, weekend system since 1995, the "Spring Festival", " May 1 International Labor Day" and "Nation Day" golden weeks since 1999. From the state regulations, the people can spend One-third of the time on leisure. The universal leisure society gets closer and closer to us. Leisure has become one of the important indicators of measuring people's living standard. It has also become a social problem which people increasingly concerned about.Leisure is the space of people's freedom and all-round development. The young white-collar workers' leisure lifestyle reflects their situation of development from the other side, which is related to their future development direction - the middle class, who is needed to be expanded for building the harmonious society. This paper hopes on the basis of the leisure lifestyle survey of young white-collar workers, the understanding of young white-collar workers and some influencing factors on youth, promoting help to the future development of youth from the perspective grasp of the future development of leisure.This paper had empirical research on the leisure lifestyle of the young white-collar workers in Changsha City by mainly a self-administered questionnaire survey and supplementing a lot of interviews. As the point of three time: working days, weekend days and statutory holidays, this paper analysis and discuss the leisure time distribution, leisure activities, leisure space, leisure consumption, leisure purpose and subjective leisure feelings of the young white-collar workers. This paper also analysis the leisure lifestyle difference of young white-collar workers in a different sex, different backgrounds and different nature units. In fact, it also inspected young white-collar workers' the gender differences, urban and rural differences and leisure lifestyle differences in different systems. Finally, it discusses the leisure characteristics and the all-round development relations of the young white-collar workers.This research finds that the young white-collar workers have less leisure time, especially in working days, but their leisure activities are relatively abundant. The longer leisure time, the more abundant leisure activities, the more positive initiative and the more development. Leisure space is from the indoor private space to the outdoor city leisure space; leisure costing is related to their income and leisure time; leisure purposes is self-development and construction of social relations; subjective feeling is better; the leisure lifestyle between various groups is more obvious. Their leisure lifestyle is conducive to the development of the young white-collar workers, but not the individual all-round development.
