France has long been a country of immigration, and is likely to remain so. Immigrants have made contribution to French society. At the same time, some immigrant issues may be severe and become big challenge for the government. The issues of migration society of France are embodied as follows: it strengthens the inequality of the society, impacts the system and policy of the welfare of France, and threatens the non-traditional national security of the country; the existence of the large number of immigrants slows down the economic development and intensifies the rising unemployment rate; it induces the fracture of social culture of France; Immigrant issues have deep origins, involving economic origins, political origins and cultural origins. On the economic level, since 1980's, with the slump of economy, the unemployment rate of France is rising and the immigration contradiction emerge. On the political level, immigrant policies have some disadvantages. The French immigrant policies characterized by "Republican Naturalization Model" had obtained great success before 1970s, but it has limitation that ignoring different culture and can't adapt to today's society. Except that, the rise of the ultra - right- winged party in the political arena have made the large population of immigrants be heavily politicized. They have accordingly been seen as a danger to the civil peace, the unity of the country and the very existence of the French national community. On the cultural level, there are some difference between immigrant culture and native culture. French people misunderstand Islamic culture.The paper includes five chapters with an additional introduction and epilogue.The research meaning is firstly introduced and then present research situation is reviewed. The basic clue and outline of the paper is introduced in this part. The first chapter starts from the French immigration history and illustrates how France becomes an immigration country from a nation-state. The second chapter explains the formation of issues caused by immigrants during 25 years. The third, fourth and fifth chapter analyze origins of immigrant issues. The epilogue tries to sum up the whole paper.
