A Study On The Wage Scissors Gap Of Peasant Laborer

As industrialization and urbanization in advance, a large-scale rural labor went into city to work since the 1980s, they are called for migrant workers. Migrant workers distributed widely in various field of the national economy, which plays an important role in the country's industrialization, urbanization and modernization, and also made great contributions to China's economic growth. However, because of the inertia of traditional institutional, migrant workers are discriminated in job opportunities, income treatment and public service, they can not enjoy the same treatment as local laborers. In the income aspect, the wage of migrant workers and urban workers showing a trend of wage scissors, which will affect China's economic growth, social stability and sustainable development, so this paper will research on the wage scissors gap of peasant laborer, and propose countermeasures to resolve the low wages of peasant laborer, wage discrimination and wage arrears problems.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is introduction, which introduced the background of the study, the purpose of the study, significance of this review, the methods of the study and the innovation point.The second part is basic theory, which introduced the related wage theory and discrimination theory. Wage theories include: the wages theory of classical economics, the wages theory of the new classical economics and the modern wages theory.The third part is the wage level analysis of peasant laborer, which mainly expounded the current wage levels of Chinese peasant laborer, and compared with the urban laborer, then concluded that the wage growth rate of peasant laborer is slower than the urban laborer's. The part three also expounded the wage arrears problems of peasant laborer.The fourth part is the wage scissors gap analysis of peasant laborer. Defined the concept of wage scissors gap of peasant laborer and verified it. Analyzed contribution to the GDP made by peasant laborer and urban laborer. Compared the agricultural price scissors with the wage scissors gap of peasant laborer.The fifth part is the reason analysis of the wage scissors gap of peasant laborer and what it will impact on. The reason analysis includes macro and micro analysis. The wage scissors gap of peasant laborer will impact on social, economic, business and peasant laborers themselves.The sixth part is the countermeasures and policy proposals to solve the wage price scissors gap of peasant laborer, including change the current household registration system and the urban-rural dual structure, establish a unified labor market and relevant laws, improve the human capital of peasant laborer.
