Mao Zedong is a great Marxist, a distinguished proletarian revolutionist, an outstanding politician, a strategist, a theorist, a proletarian educationist. The beginning of the twentieth century is a period when revolutionary fought against anti-revolutionary. Meanwhile, education was taken as a tool to save our country, which was popular with the Chinese people. On the basis of traditional education and the thought of western countries, as a young man, Mao Zedong proposed education for common people, education in life, a newly-style education according to his own experience so that he could realize his ideal to rescue the country. After the failure of the great revolution from 1921 to 1927, the Communist Party of China opened up a revolutionary route with Chinese characteristics. Meanwhile, Mao Zedong united education with communism belief and initiated a special red-educationed route. He advocated that education should serve the revolutionary struggle, class combat , the workers and the farmers and be linked with production and labor. The Chinese people founded the People's Republic of China under the leadership of the Party. As a major leader in the Party and the country , Mao Zedong devoted himself to Chinese education and set up educational policies to cultivate socialism successors who were socialist-minded and professional. It is more important to explore the practical significance after the summary of Mao Zedong quality-oriented education. The thought of Mao Zedong quality -oriented education creates specific educational theories, which combines the Marxism educational principles and Chinese educational reality. Under the leadership the CPC, the thought of Mao Zedong quality-oriented education is of science, for the people, which adheres to serve the revolutionary war and the construction of China. It lays a foundation, which influences educational theories and practice of China and has real sense for the construction of present education. We can not deny that the thought of Mao Zedong quality-oriented education has its historical limitations. In order to study Mao Zedong quality-oriented education, we need refer to the present educational situation and form people-oriented educational thought so as to enlighten us.
