A Study On The Public Trust Of NPOs Of Public Offering For Public Welfare

Non-Profit Organizations(NPOs) are also called Non-Government Organizations(NGOs) or Third Sector. Since 1970s, NPOs have been playing as an increasingly independent force in the management of public affairs. In China, NPOs started late, but they are been playing an increasingly important role. In the development, they also encounter a lot of difficulties, of which the most prominent is the issue of funding sources. For the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare, their resources rely mainly on voluntary contributions from the public, therefore, whether the public trust the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare or not is very important, which direct impacts on the credibility of the organizations access to the resources. In the paper, the author studied on the public trust of the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare, basing on L county by adopting the method that questionnaire and depth interview are combined together. The survey indicates:1. The condition of the public trust of the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare: (1) The NPOs of public offering for the public welfare are in great demand in China at present, especially for those people, such as orphans, scarcity ,disease and disability; (2) On the one hand, the public show a certain awareness of the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare of overall country, but there is still much room to develop; on the other hand ,the public show a very low awareness of the local NPOs of public offering for the public welfare; (3) At present, the public trust lever of the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare is not high .2. The impact factor of the public trust of the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare: (1) The more information of the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare are kown by the public ,the more the public trust the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare. (2) The more the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare are controlled , the more the public trust the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare. (3) "phenomenon that operation of organization disagrees with its appearance" sometimes help the public to trust of the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare, but sometimes do harm to it.At the end, the peper put forword some suggestions to improve the public trust of the NPOs of public offering for the public welfare.
