Research On Practice And Significance Of China's Gradual Reform

Reform is the remarkable character of the socialist countries in the 20th century. Owing to the impact of national conditions and many subjective and objective factors, China has taken a gradual reform way which is completely different from "shock therapy" or radical reform of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe countries. Rooted in Chinese native culture, with its own characteristics, gradual reform has showed great vitality in practice and aroused widespread concern in the world nowadays, which has great theoretical and practical significance.This paper is divided into four parts. Part one, the connotation of China's gradual reform. Based on the omni-directional comparative study on reform, revolution and improvement these three concepts and integrating domestic scholars' understanding of our gradual reform made from different angles, this part has ploted the theoretical definition to our gradual reform, that is, China's gradual reform way is refined, summarized from China's reform measures which is taken as the study object. Part two, the choice and initial practice of China's gradual reform. In this part, combined the domestic special economic, political and cultural factors with the international factors at that time in China, it explains the reasons for China's choice of the gradual reform way at first, followed by a summary of the concrete strategies adopted in practice of China's gradual reform as well as the tremendous achievements which our reform has been made and the constraints which our reform has been faced. Part three, perfection of China's gradual reform. According to the problems existed in the gradual reform process at present, the thesis has proposed to establish and perfect the law system of socialist market economy, to seek effective way for better combination between public ownership and market economy, to narrow the regional gap and the residents' income gap to accelerate the development of middle-west area, etc. Part four, significance of China's gradual reform. The abundant practice of China's gradual reform, has formed the socialist theory with Chinese characteristics, has opened up a new way for socialism, and has offered a new development model for developing countries.The innovation in this thesis mainly embodies in part three and part four. Part three, in view of the restrictive factors existed in our reform, has put forward the feasible completion measures by using the latest achievement of Chinese-styled Marxism. Part four, combined with the spirit of the 17th Congress, has made a deeper research on the theoretical and practical significance of Chinese gradual reform. Above research has remedied the study deficiency of theoretical circle in these respects.
