Since the 20th century 20-30 ages, taking Mao Zedong as core of leadership's,Chinese Communists had unified Chinese concrete national conditions and led theChinese people to have opened one unique road to the modernization ,from"revolution to the construction". The western scholars have conducted muchresearch to these unique theories of Mao Zedong. In 1951, the American famouslearned expert of China——Schwartz Benjamin I (1916-1999) proposed the theoryconcept of"Maoism"for the first time . Its initial connotation is limited to the theoryof Chinese revolutionary strategies which believed the theory that the CommunistParty of China, taking the farmers as the mass base and the advantage of the Chinesegeneral countryside far away from military and executive power center of pressureguided China to revolution to the victory departed from the proletariat revolutionarytheory of the classics Marxism."Maoism"became the mainstream model and theacademic tradition in the Western Mao Zedong's research area and obtained thewidespread approval and the increasing developments.In the 1960s, the Western scholars centering on the Maoism's revolutionarystrategy implication, launched the first round argument and carried the multipleperspectives analysis on the Yen'an type of social development of the China NewDemocratic Revolution Period and the specific policies of the consolidating politicalpower, recovering the economy, realizing the industrialization and the countrysidecollectivization. From 1980s to 1990s ,the Western scholars conducted new researchregarding to"the Maoism","the people essence principle","theory of the will"andsome new theories are integrated to"the Maoism", The Western scholars used thesenew theories to analyze Mao Zedong's thoughts of Socialism constructionemphatically.Western scholars described the"Maoism"by revolutionary strategy and theconstruction thoughts without derogatory meanings. In this paper, the author tried totake the developing research of "Maoism" ideology as the main line to describe andanalyze the view of the Western scholars on how Mao Zedong to realize themodernization. Under the visions of Western scholars, the most remarkablecharacteristic of the path to modernization which Mao Zedong took is having"thedistinctive quality". It is different from the way in which Western world realized themodernization.The distinctive quality of taking the farmer as the main army and the countrysideas the base to gain the revolutionary victory, experiencing the special socialdevelopment stage of New Democracy Society to enter the socialism, imitating SovietUnion's the development model, otherwise ,trying hard to surmount it. is the result ofMao Zedong's making every effort to unify the Marxism-Leninism with China's reality. No matter to what degree,Mao Zedong promoted the Chinese modernizationhistoric course, his exploring spirits which basing on our country national condition,seeked the development path of China had the profound influence on the Chinesecharacteristic socialism modernization theory...
