This work illuminates the role that Mao Zedong and his thought had on Black Liberation Movements(BLMs)in America and its modern day implications and relevance. This unique viewpoint strings together the pieces of previous literary works and research and creates an overarching path from the Nascent of Mao Zedong’s thoughts to current Black Power Movements of 2018 and the contemporary relevances that Maoism has in the present day.The research questions that will be uncovered are: How and to what extent did Mao and or China/CPC influence Black Liberation Movements in the US?,Why and when did China support Black Liberation Movements and why did the movement seek support from China?,To what extent were the BLMs influenced specifically by Mao Zedong thought and Chinese Marxism? And What is the legacy of China’s influence on Black Liberation Movements? The research is primarily based on journals and other academic documentation. These documents are supported by official propaganda from the Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre and other archival research.Mao Zedong heavily impacted Black Liberation Movements worldwide and though it is not as explicit nowadays, much of the theories are discreetly engrained in modern movements. This journey incorporates different theories like the Three Worlds Theory, the stitchings that Marxism played in the tapestry of Mao and his thought and how it is woven into the very fabric of some well-known key players unbeknownst to most.
