On Lawyer Culture

In recent years, the discussion on lawyer culture has become a heated topic. Undeniably, the lawyer community, as an important force for Chinese legal system construction is in urgent need of advanced values and professional ethics to respond to the call of a supportive lawyer culture so as to implement their due serving and social functions. Accordingly, our objective is to forge lawyers'spirit and to shape their images with the help of the lawyer culture which is supposed to go along with the community.This paper begins with the definition of the external and internal essence of the lawyer culture and proceeds to have an exposition on its characteristics,morality and ideal state. It concludes the deficiency in the current lawyer culture in China through the analysis of the differences on lawyer culture between east and west with more importance attached to the comparison of lawyers'rights. At the end of the article, the author puts forward his own propositions for and reflection on the improvement of the culture. The author attempts to furnish the lawyer community with a relatively comprehensive knowledge of the culture which they will be able to employ to guide their practice, create their own soul habitat so as to make unremitting efforts to fulfill social justice to the fullest extent.
