The Understanding And Research Of The Religious Policies Of China

Through studies of Chinese traditional religions' characteristics and their relationship with four basic religious policies of China,the author advances three characteristics of Chinese religions—chronicity,popularity, and complexity.The thesis state that these characteristics comes from the facts that religions coexist with human beings and society,the disciples takes more than one-fourth of Chinese population,and religious policies are faced with challenges from China and abroad.It also studies religions with an economic point of view,and suggests adjusting religious policies from this new angle.With the author's three years of visiting the departments of United Front and Ethnic and Religious Affairs and exchanging ideas with disciples in various religious places,this thesis reflects the current situation of the implement of religious policies and offers some reference for researchers and decisions making.
