Since the founding of the party more than 100 years ago,the CPC’s religious policy in ethnic areas reflects the basic development law of “the dialectical unity of the ’diversity’ of religious belief and the ’unity’ of Chinese civilization”.Based on the religious reality in ethnic areas and the revolutionary tasks in different periods,it has gone through three stages of exploration, development and improvement to push forward the construction of the common spiritual homeland of the Chinese nation. In the early years of the New Democratic Revolution and founding ceremony of the People’s Republic of China, the party abandoned dogmatism and implemented a religious policy that focused on upholding freedom of belief and building United front in religious circles,he forged deep revolutionary friendship with religious circles and religious believers in ethnic areas, promoted the development of patriotism and made a useful exploration for the construction of a common spiritual home for the Chinese nation. In the new period of reform and opening-up,the party has initially established a legal system for the administration of religious affairs in ethnic areas, focusing on the basic principles and the direction of legalization of the freedom of belief and the maintenance of national unity and national unity, laid a solid foundation for the construction of the common spiritual homeland of the Chinese nation. After the 18 th National Congress, the party continued to localize religion in China, using“Chinese national identity” and“Chinese cultural identity” as its“Twin engines” to deepen the construction of a shared spiritual homeland for the Chinese nation. After a long period of exploration and practice, the party’s religious policy in ethnic areas is becoming mature. While respecting the religious culture and freedom of belief of all ethnic groups,we should pay attention to the construction of the common spiritual homeland of the Chinese nation at the religious level. The change of the party’s religious policy in ethnic areas is not only the development of the party’s Marxist religious view, but also the product of the party’s long-term religious practice in ethnic areas. |
