The Search Of Theory For HBV Carriers Discrimination And Case Study

This rearch aimed to fish out useful medical sociological theory for the HBV carriers discrimination study ,which were apllied in a empirical case study.First,this research sorted through the theory about sick role and lable theory,then tried to implement these theories to explain the HBV carriers discrimination.The research indicated that lable and stigma theory were more useful to interprete the diliemma between the discrimination situation and disinfection during the everyday interaction.Second,this research explored the relationship between the stigma and the medcal knowledge.The research demonstrated that the traditional chinese medical science don't care about the contamination of HBV,while paying attenmtion to the infection of HBV carriers was essential to the western medical science.Third,following the precedors,professor Link BG and Phd Phelan JC,this research set the stigmatization in the company field to reveal the the course of implement and the counterattack of stigma,which was based on a case study . The research indicated that the carriers were not totally passivly labled and stigmatized according to the lable theory,they also rebuted the stigma actively. Proactivity of the HBV carrier of this case challenged renewed theories about stigma. The research revealed that the physical examination provisions including HBV test was prerequisite for HBV carriers discrimination,but the provisions were not challenged by the carrier. The health was judged by the medical experts,carriers resorted to the experts for help to revise the stereotyped belief of the company field .The public power failed because the company shrinked off it. Some carriers also can avert the stigmatizaion by use of social capital outside and power of his own in the company field. At last,this research proposed 18 issuses pertinent to the study about the HBV carriers discrimination.The research of these issues will contribute to the innovation of western mecial sociology,because the co-existence of the western medical science and the traditional chinese medical science ,the establishment of the western hospital instituion,the superstition of science,the lack of individul rights protection tradition were particular for China.
