Urban Anti-terrorism Under The Circumstance Of Globalization

With the acceleration of globalization, the contact among every country and region in the world become increasingly close, disasters or crises happened in any region or country would probably affect other regions and countries, even the whole world. Under this circumstance, international terrorism becomes more and more rampant, and spread rapidly, thus it becomes a serious threat against national security in the era of globalization. Terrorism is a scourge for the entire world. How to make anti-terrorist action effectively has become an issue which deserves every country's study.Because of their characteristics, cities can easily become targets of terrorist attacks. Therefore, the prevention and fighting against terrorist activities should focus on cities. This dissertation first illustrates the characteristics, means and space-time feature of terrorist attacks in cities, then take the security to Olympic Games as an example, sum up available experiences from the examples, according to these experiences, put forward suggestions to strengthen the anti-terrorist constructions under the circumstance of globalization, seek to improve the abilities for urban anti-terrorism, avoid or reduce the risks of terrorist attacks that cities may suffer, prevent and fight against terrorism effectively, ensure national and social security, promote a healthy and stable development of the society.This dissertation is divided into four chapters:Chapter I give an overview of literatures, to define terrorism and put forward the concept of anti-terrorism at first, then sum up the research results on terrorism and anti-terrorism studies, and refer to the research results on urban anti-terrorism, finally explains the meaning of this topic, the research contents and methods.Chapter II make analysis of urban terrorism attacks under the circumstance of globalization, introduce the characteristics, means and space-time features of urban terrorism attacks.Chapter III analyze the cases of security to Olympic Games in Munich, Athens and Beijing, learn the successful experiences from them and make conclusion.Chapter IV learn from the experiences above, put forward the guidelines to enhance urban anti-terrorism, the idea of urban anti-terrorism system construction. Then make detailed illustration from the construction of leadership and commanding authority, intelligence, legal system, publicity and education, cooperation and so on.
